Formerly a hospital staff nurse, Willie began his training and consulting career in 1996. Willie has presented hundreds of seminars and thousands of consultations and team interventions, locally and nationally. His greatest impact and satisfaction come from helping leaders and teams deal with change and conflict with clarity and confidence, while improving performance. Clients report that Willie’s logical, straightforward, yet intuitive and often humorous approach to these issues are the keys to his effectiveness. In his "other" life, Willie is a songwriter and musician. He and his wife Jeanie make their home in Bend, Oregon.
Testimonials:
"Willie's no-nonsense approach to dealing with conflict and change produces results quickly and effectively, especially when more traditional methods have failed. He has a unique ability to speak the truth, inspiring positive change by challenging deeply imbedded assumptions and behaviors that keep people from achieving their goals. He uses his powerful sense of humor to highlight the absurd, dissolve pretense, and connect people with the core of their purpose."
"Unlike many consultants, Willie is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get in the trenches, where the work is at its hardest and dirtiest. In fact, that is where he thrives. Willie is at his best when you and your team are at your worst."

"I’ve worked with numerous organization development consultants and coaches over the past 30 years. I consider Willie Carmichael to be in the top 10%. His interventions are powerful because his personal honesty and integrity call me to a higher level of accountability. Because of his coaching, I have accessed more of my own skills and personal will to be a better manager."
- Wendy Schechter, Mid-level manager
"My experience has been that many front-line managers were originally high-performing technical staff before being promoted into management and supervisory roles. Many of them are woefully unprepared for the challenges of successfully leading their teams, especially during times of change and stress. Willie is extraordinarily insightful regarding the unique challenges and demands of front-line and mid-level management. I have worked closely with Willie to develop my own leadership insight, skills, and philosophy, and he has often helped me generate a clear strategy for coaching, mentoring, and developing my front-line supervisors. He has also helped both my supervisors and me to develop clear and measurable outcomes and to track our progress."
- Dan Streck, Mid-level manager
"Willie has a true gift for group interventions. He makes the hard stuff of personal interactions actually enjoyable. He’s been extraordinarily helpful throughout our organization with conflict management and the enhancement of individual performance."
