William Carmichael Consulting, LLC

I offer four key services to clients who want to improve performance:

Consultation - bringing a systematic approach to assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and measuring outcomes. In this process I partner with the client to create customized solutions to specific problems.

Coaching - working one-on-one to help people sort through their thoughts, emotions, assumptions, and confusion to find a clear path from where they are to where they want to be. I've coached hundreds of clients--from top executives to line workers to artists to other consultants. The results: Greater clarity, accountability, ability to make changes, performance, and satisfaction.

Training - sometimes being able to perform better requires learning something new. I provide powerful, engaging training on coping with change, managing stress and conflict, improving team function, and coaching skills for leaders. Please see the list of course offerings included in this packet.

Team Interventions - planning and delivering group processes that improve safety and accountability, remove obstacles, and provide new strategies, skills, and agreements for group success.

Here are some of the things you can expect from me:

  • To listen - a lot.
  • To do everything I can to understand your situation.
  • To tell the truth and create an environment where others feel safe to do the same.
  • To help you learn to find your way through complex issues with more clarity and confidence.
  • To stay calm in the face of conflict or discomfort. In times of change, you can't afford lingering unresolved conflict and the "illusion of comfort", because we rarely change our behavior when we're comfortable. My job is to make the natural discomfort of change or conflict safe enough that people can take action.
  • To bring objectivity to situations where others are unable to be objective.
  • To keep you and your team on track. A client once laughingly accused me of being "relentless" about helping her focus on her outcomes. What a nice compliment!
  • To advocate for your success even when you get discouraged.
